Attendees are invited to enjoy 30 art pieces from 15 international digital artists such as Harald Belker, Paul Chadeisson, Uwe Heidschoetter, Maciej Kuciara, Tobias Mannewitz, Paperblue, Peter Popken, Christian Lorenz Scheurer or Thomas Scholes. screenwatch

A while ago I did an interview with screen-watch.com regarding concept art and it's relevance in the process of film making.
I think it covers the most common questions and hopefully offers a more detailed view into the subject. This may also be interesting for anybody seeking a job in the industry and answer some of the requests I received lately.

2012 has brought many new collaborations with my friends at Ballistic Publishing, 3DTotal and the Nuthin'But Mech Gang. More thanks are due to my blog visitors for cheering me up with their comments. 2013 will hopefully bring a few more posts with new character and costume designs and my concept art for the Thor sequel. Wish all of you the best in the coming year and beyond.

Cloud Atlas

Last year the Wachowskis (The Matrix) and Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run) teamed up to direct the 'unfilmable' Cloud Atlas. I was invited to do designs for locations and props for the film. Here is a selection of my favorite concepts:

trailer released:

Cloud Atlas is maybe the most ambitious and unusual film I have ever worked on. Based on the best-selling novel by David Mitchell it tells six interconnected stories through different genres spanning over a period of 1000 years. An epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future.

I was working mainly for futuristic scenarios way beyond science-fiction where everything lies in ruins again. ..there you go :-)
Above is a teaser pic of mine for the Satellite Center, as it appears in the trailer.  Another preview can be seen on George's website here →.

Cloud Atlas will hit theaters earlier than expected on October 26th.
Now here is the trailer with an epic lenght of six minutes. Enjoy.
